In this tutorial we will show you how to move files using the FileZilla FTP client. FileZilla is a free open-sourced FTP client that is compatible with Windows and Mac, and can be downloaded here:

We are assuming you are familiar with the file structure of your website. For more information regarding where to create the file, here is a link to a helpful article that explains folder structure.

How to Move Files:

  1. Connect to your server using FileZilla.
  2. In the Remote site, navigate to the File / Folder you want to move.
  3. Click the file, then drag and drop it onto the folder you want it to be moved to. In my tests I am moving a folder titled test-folder1, inside a folder titled test-folder2.

    The folder will now reside inside the folder you moved it to.
    folder1-inside-folder2
