I would really, really like to see this functionality. I believe that the time saved by having live, interactive debugging and administrative sessions, including large-scale regex-based file management, makes SSH a necessary feature for large scale web-application deployment, especially when spending a lot of time configuring server environments.

Hello xiephoire,

While I do agree that SSH access would help speed along things in a development environment, unfortunately due to the security implications it's not something that is typically available on shared hosting. For this reason we typically recommend doing all of your large-scale development locally and then just uploading your results to the server.
