How to Login to the Joomla Admin Panel

In this tutorial we will show you how to login to the Administration (Admin) panel sometimes called a dashboard for Joomla! 2.5. After logging in to the Admin panel you are able to acess tools for setting up and modifying your Joomla! powered website. 

The version of Joomla we used at the time this article was written is 2.5.8

Logging in to the Joomla! Admin Section:

  1. Bring up the web address (URL) of your Joomla! Website, then add to the end of the address: /administrator

    For example, if my Joomla! website is: http://mydomain.com

    I will navigate to: http://mydomain.com/administrator

    Be sure to replace mydomain.com with the actual domain name of your Joomla! website.
  2. The Joomla! Administration Login page will come up, enter the username and password you setup when Joomla! was installed.

  3. Click the Log in button. You will then be logged into the Admin section of your Joomla! website.

    Congratulations, now you know how to login to the Admin Panel of Joomla!
