If your site asks for sensitive information from your visitors, such as credit card details, a SSL certificate can help protect them.  Your account comes with a Shared SSL certificate, however you can also use a Dedicated SSL certificate.

Not familiar with Shared SSL vs. Dedicated SSL?

Our Dedicated SSL certificates are Comodo-issued 256-bit encrypted InstantSSL certificates and are only $99.99 per year.  Certificates require a dedicated IP address for $2.95 per month. This $2.95/month fee is waived if the Dedicated SSL certificate is purchased through Web Hosting Hub.  There is a one-time $25 install fee for all SSL certificates.

You can order a dedicated SSL in your Account Management Panel (or AMP).  For help logging into AMP, please read our article on accessing your Account Management Panel.

How do I obtain a Dedicated SSL Certificate in AMP?

Once you have logged into AMP, to order a dedicated SSL:

  1. Under ""Additional Services" click on Other.
  2. Next, click on Request SSL Certificate Purchase.
  3. On the next screen, select the SSL Certificate's subscription length (ie 1 or 2 years). Also enter the Desired Certificate Name. Generally secure. or www. are the most common certificate names, followed by the domain name.  For example, a certificate for our website would read www.webhostinghub.com.  When you are done click Next.
  4. Enter the contact information for the owner of the SSL certificate. Note that Comodo will check the information you submit against the information given in a WHOIS lookup. If the information differs than it may delay the issuing of your SSL.
  5. Finally, after hitting Next you can choose how you want the SSL billed.  Once you have completed the form, clicking "Submit" will send the information to our support department.
