In this tutorial:

In this guide we will show you how to change your email password in cPanel, and Webmail. If you know your current email password, you can change it after logging into Webmail; if don't know your email password, it can be reset from cPanel.

Please keep in mind that when you change your email password, you will have to update it in your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Mac Mail) and also any device that you use (such as iPhone, Android). If you check your email using webmail, you will simply need to use the new password to login.

Changing your Email Password in cPanel:

If you forgot your email password, it can easily be reset in the Email Accounts area in cPanel. This is convenient, since you do not need to know the original password. In this tutorial we will walk you through an email password reset.

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Click on the Email Accounts icon under the Email section of cPanel.
  3. Click the Change Password link beside the email account you want to change the password for.
  4. Type in your new password in the Password and Password (again) fields. Note you must have a password strength of at least 50.
  5. Click the Change Password button to save your changes.

Changing your Email Password in Webmail

  1. Login to Webmail
  2. Make sure the proper email address is showing, then click the Change Password:
  3. Enter your new password twice, then click the Change Password button. You wil then see a message stating "The email account was successfully modified"
