Cpanel actually provides the settings that you need for setting up an email client like Outlook, Mac Mail or Thunderbird.  The following article will walk you through how to find these settings in the MAIL section of your Cpanel interface.

Locating the Email Settings

  1. Login to the Cpanel
  2. Scroll down the Cpanel interface until you find the MAIL section.  Click on EMAIL ACCOUNTS.
  3. Select an email account and then click on "Connect Devices" to the right of your email account as per the screenshot below:

View of the Accounts list in the mail section of Cpanel

  4. You will then see a page for setting up mail clients. Scroll down to where it says Mail Client Manual Settings and you will see the settings used for mail client setup.

The page will show you the settings for both Secure or Non-SSL (not secure) settings that you can use to configure your email client settings.

Email Configuration Settings in Webmail

The settings for the email configuration can also be found in the Webmail interface.  The email settings are identical to the settings displayed above.  You can login to Webmail through the Cpanel interface, or you can login directly.  Go to How to Login to Webmail for further details. The section is labeled Mail Client Manual Setup as per the screenshot below:

Hello Aaron,

Thanks for your question concerning the "Set Up Mail Client" link in the tutorial. cPanel has updated its interface and changed things around. I went ahead and updated the terminology and the graphic for the article. You should be clicking on "Connect Devices" to get the email client settings. Let us know if you have any further questions.
