If you have more than a few contacts you want to add to your address book in roundcube, adding them manually can be a chore. Fortunately, roundcube includes an import option so that you can import your contacts easily.

Please note, at this time, roundcube only supports the vCard format. If you cannot export or save your contact list to a vCard format, save it as a CSV (comma separated values) file. Then use one of the many free programs available that will convert your CSV file to a vCard file. One example is the online tool: CSV to vCard.

Once you are logged into roundcube, click the Address Book icon in the upper right of your screen.

Next, click on the Import contacts button

Click the browse button in the Import contacts screen, select your vCard file and click the Import button to import your contacts.

Once the import is complete you will receive notification of how many contacts were imported. Click the Done button to be returned to the Address Book screen where you can view and manage your newly imported contacts.

VCF file has 380 records yet when I mark/select all and import, Roundcube imports only 20 records. If I try marketing last half or 1/4, it still imports 20 new records but how do I get to import the entire list of 380 records?

Hello Sole, and thanks for your comment.

I might recommend that you export your contacts in RoundCube and compare the resulting vCard .vcf format file.

It looks like each contact entry should have a BEGIN:VCARD and END:VCARD statement surrounding it. So an example one would look like this:

BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
N:LastName2;FirstName2;;;
FN:FirstName2
EMAIL;TYPE=INTERNET;TYPE=HOME:FirstName2@example.com
END:VCARD
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
N:LastName;FirstName;;;
FN:FirstName
EMAIL;TYPE=INTERNET;TYPE=HOME:FirstName@example.com
END:VCARD

If you're still having issues, please let us know.

As a test, try importing a smaller amount such as 50. This will confirm the import tool is working and indicate an issue importing a lot of addresses at once. For example, it may be timing out due to so many addresses.
