Web Hosting Hub recommends periodic updates of Wordpress, and all software hosted with us. With a website backup, you can easily revert your site back to a prior status if a problem occurs during that process. Backing up your website is easy in your account cPanel, you can also use a 3rd party plugin.

Backing up your website is a necessary part of normal account maintenance, and Web Hosting Hub provides a solution in your cPanel. Please read our article entitled Do you Run Backups of your Servers? for more information regarding backups.

Backup from cPanel:

Please follow our guide onBacking Up Your Website in the cPanel. For WordPress, you will want to make sure that you not only back up the files in your directory, but also your MySQL Database. Download your backup to your computer or to a local disk drive once cPanel has created the backup for you, the file will automatically have the date that the backup was taken to make organization easier.

Backup using a Plugin:

While we recommend using the cPanel to backup your files, there are also many plugins available for accomplishing this. Below is a list of Backup Plugins for Wordpress:

For help installing Wordpress Plugins, see our full guide.

Congratulations, now you know how to backup your Wordpress powered website.
