The answer to your question can vary depending on how you obtained the Joomla template in the first place. If you built it yourself, you're going to need to save it as a template first. Then you will need to move the parts of the template into the server online and load it there. If you downloaded it from the web, then it would be much easier. You would need to get the installation file again, and then install it through Joomla, but on the server this tme. Also, it would help us know what version of Joomla you are using. Could you please specify?
The basic instructions for installing a 2.5 template are as follows:
1. Log into your Joomla 2.5 admin
2. In the top menu, hover over Extensions and then click Extension Manager
3. Click the Install tab
4. Under Upload Package File, click Browse and find the template on your computer that you downloaded. Click the template file to choose it, and then click Open. Finally, click Upload & Install.
5. After installing the template, you will receive a message similar to: Installing template was successful
Hopefully, this provides the necessary information. If you require further assistance, please give us a little more information - such as the version of Joomla you're using, if you're trying to create a template or use one that you obtained from elsewhere. Please provide this information and we'd be happy to provide some more details.
