DNS Propagation is the time it takes for changes you make to your DNS to begin to take effect. Due to various levels of caching, changes you make to your DNS will most likely not take immediate effect. When a nameserver change is made on a domain it can take 4 to 24 hours for the DNS changes to propagate to all networks around the world. Your Internet Service Provider may also have caching periods that can delay the change from reflecting in your browser. This propagation will occur when you purchase a new domain, or change the DNS information for an existing domain (point the Nameservrs or change other DNS records).

To check where your domain is pointing to during the propagation process, you can enter your domain into our Visual Domain Checker tool to view the Nameservers your domain currently points to as well as your domain's A record and MX records:

It's also important to keep in mind that if you have custom DNS setup for a domain that you will be pointing to our Nameservers, those custom DNS records are not automatically copied over when you point your domain to our Nameservers. You will first want to create those custom DNS records with us before pointing the domain to our Nameservers.

The link to the Visual Domain Checker Tool brings up a blank page.
Hi Susan,

Thanks for letting us know about that. I've corrected the link to the Visual Domain Checker Tool.

Regards,
