In the previous article we explained what cPanel is. Logging into your cPanel couldn't be easier. You can access your cPanel through either your Account Management Panel (AMP) or through your cPanel URL.

Logging into cPanel Through AMP

  1. Begin by logging into AMP.
  2. On the right side of the screen, under the Control Panel heading, click on the the Work in Your Control Panel link.

    amp-cpanel-log-in
  3. This will take you automatically into your cPanel account.

If you have any trouble logging into your cPanel account, you can change your cPanel password by selecting the reset password link under the Work in Your Control Panel link.

Logging into cPanel through the cPanel URL

  1. Visit yourdomain.com/cpanel (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain)
  2. Login using your cPanel username and password

Troubleshooting cPanel login problems

I am not prompted for a username and password when attempting to login

The first step to login to your cPanel is visiting yourdomain.com/cpanel. When you visit this page, you should be prompted for your cPanel username and password. If you're not, usually it is due to your domain name just being registered / or not pointed to our servers, or you're using an internet connection in which the cPanel ports (2082 / 2083) are blocked.

Usually trying one of the following will resolve these issues:

  1. Use cpanel.yourdomain.com instead of yourdomain.com/cpanel (this uses cPanel proxy, which access cPanel over port 80 vs. 2082 / 2083)
  2. Use your temporary cPanel url, which should look similar to: http://ehub22.webhostinghub.com/cpanel
Be sure to replace "ehub22" with your actual server name.

I am entering a username and password, but they are not being accepted

If your username and password are not being accepted when logging into cPanel, it could be either of these issues:

  1. Ensure you are using the correct cPanel url (refer to the directions above under 'I am not prompted for a username and password')
  2. Ensure you are using all lowercase for your username, and you are entering the correct case for your password. For example, password is different from PaSsWoRd
  3. You are using the incorrect password. Don't worry, this is very common. If you're not sure what your cpanel username and password are, please contact our support department for further assistance with logging into cPanel.

Then next tutorial in our getting started with cPanel series will discuss the layout of the cPanel Admin page.

Hello iYdeal,

If you have gone through the process above and are getting an error logging in, it is possible the account did not link correctly to your hosting.

Our support team can have that done for you. To do so, you would need to contact our support department at support@webhostinghub.com (available 24/7) with that request. Be sure to validate your account with either the last 4 digits of the credit card on file, or the current Account Management Panel (AMP) password.

Best Regards,
Scott M

It seems this is a general problem. I cannot access my Builder Account. It looks like I need three sets of usernames and passwords. One for AMP, another set for cPanel and yet another set for Builder Login. Is this so? The guide says that Builder Login should open automatically after logging in at AMP login but ths does not happen and I still cannot do any testing or building of my website using the Builder tool. There is no clear explanation of how to overcome this problem, but in fact, why is it happening at all after having just purchased the service. I spent a lot of time thinking and testing if I did something wrong but I see from the thread above that other people have had the same problem. Please can somebody there help get this problem resolved and thereafter provide an amendment to the guide to help new users make sure this does happen.
Regards
Neil
