Your hostname will depend on what you are trying to setup.
Usually your FTP hostname is the same as your domain name. However, if any of the following apply, you will want to use your sever name instead:
For more information on FTP setup, please see our FTP Getting Started Guide.
For database connections, your hostname will be: localhost. Please see our articles on Creating, Importing, and Exporting MySQL Databases and Manual Installation of PHP Software for more information on working with MySQL datbases and connecting applications to your database.
In many cases you'll need the hostname when sending email from your site (contact forms, newsletters, etc.). To do this you'll want to use "localhost" (without the quotes) as the hostname.
Connect Remotely to your Server
If you need to connect to your Web Hosting Hub account from another server you will want to use your server name which can be found in your cPanel stats (on the left side of your cPanel home screen). If you have any trouble finding your cPanel stats please see our What Version am I Running? article for step-by-step instructions.
