Pointing domain name to subdomain

Dns Nameserver Changes

I just pointed my domain name blueridgechamber.org to the domain servers as mentioned in this article.

I am not sure what other steps are necessary so that my subdomain http://blueridgechamber.enkiiarts.com/ will be recognized.

It's not working yet, and I do understand it can take up to 24 hours, but surely am I missing something? Otherwise how will you know where to redirect my url to?

Or am I doing this completely wrong and this not necessary? Maybe just altering the cname records without pointing to the domain servers would have been enough?

Thank you!

Hello Alejandro,

Thank you for your question regarding issues pointing a subdomain. Yes, DNS changes such as nameserver updates, and creating subdomains can take up to 24 hours to propagate.

Ensure you have created the subdomain in cPanel.

Then, you can create a redirect in cPanel, or custom code a 301 redirect directly in your .htaccess file.

If it is still not working, you can check your cname, and 'A record' for the subdomain in the Advanced DNS Editor.

Thank you,
