Hello,

Thanks for the question. Just to be clear, if you transfer your domain name to a different domain registrar (any company that manages domain names) and still want us to host your website files, then you will be required to either point an A record to the Web Hosting Hub server using the new registrar or change the name server names to Web Hosting Hub after the transfer is complete.

In order to transfer a domain away from Hub, you will be required to request that the domain be released. IMPORTANT: Note that you will need to remove domain privacy from the domain if it has been purchased for the domain. The Administrator Email that is registered for your domain must be an email address that you can access. This is required because the authorization key is emailed to that email address. This key is required for the domain transfer to occur.

After the domain is released, and you have your authorization code, you can go to your new domain registrar and initiate the domain transfer. Domain transfer times may differ from registrar to registrar, but it will typically require 7-10 days (max) to complete. Note that domains that have been newly registered cannot be transferred until 60 days have passed. Domains must be in good standing (i.e not expired) in order to be transferred to another domain registrar.

Also, you should note that when a domain transfer or any DNS changes are made, there will be a typical DNS propagation period while the changes occur. This is typically up to 24 hours after the change is applied.

Just to summarize, the information given above is in regards to transferring a domain AWAY from Web Hosting Hub while still maintaining the Web Hub server as the location where the web files are saved and served. If you need help finding your server IP address (for an A record), please go to Find your Shared server IP address for more information.

I hope this helps to answer your question. Please let us know if you require any further information.

Regards,
Arnel C.
