can't create a password for mcafee protection

I purchased mcafee email protection for a single account the other day. i have been attempting to access the mcafee control console by clicking on "Forgot your password or need to create a password?" at the bottom of the mcafee sign in and selecting primary address and providing the primary email address --- but i am not getting any message in my inbox from mcafee.

We're sorry to hear that you're having problems with the Mcafee software login. If you are unable to go through the login steps and recover password options in the articles on our website, you may need to access Mcafee to see if they can reset it for you. If you followed the steps for the login correctly, then you do have an avenue to recover the password. Check out this article and see if you can recover using the Mcafee interface:
