Hello RonFleming,

When creating a new FTP account, the default process is for it to assign a new folder with the same name as the root folder. You simply need to watch that and change it upon creation.

For instance, if you created an accoutn named Joe123, then the cPanel will add a folder named Joe123 under thepublic_html directory and the FTP account will only be able to access that.

You can certainly simply remove the Joe123 from the root path and that will ensure you have access to the public_html directory and everything under that. If you want the account to have access fro the home directory (the highest level of the account) by deleting any default text in the root and enter a forward slash (/).

You will need to delete and re-create the FTP account in order to change the root folder.

Best Regards,
Scott M
