Cannot access htaccess file, website wont display pages unless .html extension is present.

Hello newbie5891,

Thank you for your question, sorry to hear you are having trouble viewing your .htaccess file. Here is a link to our guide on how to edit the .htaccess file, make sure in step 4 you "select the option for Show Hidden Files (dotfiles)".

If you do not see this option "popping up", then in the main cPanel page, click the link on the bottom for reset all interface settings. This will make the pop-up appear again when you access files via the File Manager.

You can access the site, and hide the extension by using domain masking, here is a link to our guide.

This will let you access the page without the .html in the address.
