Can I install a seperate joomla on my sub domain?

I'm currently using Joomla on my main domain. I created a sub domain and want to know if I can install a separate joomla on it. The template I purchased has joomla setup included within the template. It states that if I don't do it this way the photos and other items will not load. It also says it will overwrite joomla if I have it already installed.

So will the sub domain act like a clean fresh start so I don't loose the site I've started on my main domain?

Thank you for your question. Yes, a subdomain is like a separate domain name. Here is a link to an article here in our support center that covers Subdomain, Addon, and Parked domains.

Also here are links to our walk-through articles on installing Joomla, and installing a template.
