On 24th September I published my very first website www.panasonicneoplasma.com on the Internet. Since then whenever I type in my website in Google Search, Google is not ranking my site but it is showing the following message -

Index Of
panasonicneoplasma.com/
Index Of /.cgi-bin/

What does this mean and for how long will it remain like this before Google actually ranks my site. If you suspect that there is some problem in this or I have done something wrong while publishing my website, then please let me know how can I fix this.

Hello Subho777,

If you see the Index of/ page, this means the uploading program did not place the files in the public_html folder. Or, if you see other filenames in a list, it simply means there is no index.html or index.php file. This will need to be corrected to display the site.

If the files are in the wrong place, you will want to check the publishing settings on the uploading program to make them point correctly.

If it is due to a missing index file, be sure that the index file is named appropriately in lowercase only as the server is case sensitive to the index file.

Best Regards,
Scott M
