In this guide we will show you how to change your email password in cPanel, and Webmail. If you know your current email password, you can change it after logging into Webmail; if you don't know your email password, it can still be reset from cPanel.

Please keep in mind that when you change your email password, you will have to update it in your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Mac Mail) and also any device that you use (such as iPhone, Android). If you check your email using webmail, you will simply need to use the new password to login.

Changing your Email Password in cPanel:

If you forgot your email password, it can easily be reset in the Email Accounts area in cPanel. This is convenient, since you do not need to know the original password. In this tutorial we will walk you through an email password reset.

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Click on the Email Accounts icon under the Email section of cPanel.
  3. Click Manage next to the email you want to change the password for.
  4. Type a password in the New Password field, you can also click the Generate button to create one for you. Note you must have a password strength of at least 20.
  5. Scroll down and click the Update Email Settings button to save your changes.

Changing your Email Password in Webmail

  1. Login to Webmail
  2. Make sure the proper email address is showing on the top right of the page. Then click the Passsword & Security link under Edit Your Settings.
  3. Enter your new password twice, then click the Change Password button. You can also click the Password Generator button for help creating a new password."
  4. Click the Save button.
