Adding an Item to the Main Menu in Joomla
Joomla be default has a Main menu set up for your main site. (See the right menu in the snapshot to the right.) This menu can have different items added to it to allow your site to have better navigation. This article will teach you how to add a link to an article in your Joomla website.
Steps to add a link in the Main Menu in Joomla 3.1
- Log into your Joomla Dashboard.
Go to Menus > Main Menu.
Click New.
Under Menu Item Type click Select.
To link to an Article within your own site, you will need to select Articles.
Select Single Article.
Now you can find the article you made for the Menu link. Click the Select button on the Select Article box.
Select the Article from the list that you want to link to. In this case we are going to select the Contact Us page.
Save the changes.
Visit your home page and look at your Navigation to the right. You will now see the new link. In this case it says Contact Us.
