Displaying the Dial Pad In Skype

When dialing in to the main number, you will need to access the phone menu. To do that via Skype, you will need to display the dial pad. Below, we show you how to enable the dial pad option.

  1. When you click on one of the Skype options, you may be prompted to either choose a program, or to launch the application. If prompted to select, click on the Skype option. You may also opt to keep this option in your browser by selecting Remember my choice for skype links. To continue, click on the OK button.
  2. Once Skype opens on your screen, click on the Call menu option and then select Show Dial Pad from the menu.
  3. Now the dial pad will display on the screen. There is also a Dial Pad button below so you can toggle the display on and off. Use the dial pad to select the correct department from the phone menu.
  4. Note that in our testing, the dialpad button did not work on *nix systems.

  1. To start, visit http://skype.com and click on the Join Us option located at the top of the page.
  2. This takes you to the signup form. Here you will enter all the details for your account. While some info is optional, fields marked with a * are required.
  3. Once you have completed entering your information, locate and click on the I agree-Continue link to complete the process.

How to Set Up Skype

Once your account has been created, you can download and install Skype on your computer.

  1. Head to http://skype.com. Once there, click on either Download Skype or Get Skype.
  2. Now, choose the correct download option for your operating system. This article gives the full instructions for Windows, though the other options are very similar.
  3. You will see a Skype Setup program prompt appear on the screen. Click on the Save File button.
  4. From your computer, find the folder where you downloaded the file and double click it to run the setup program.
  5. This brings up the Skype setup wizard. Start by selecting your Language and then click the Continue button.
  6. This step is one for installing the optional Skype to Call program. It is designed so you can click on phone numbers displayed in your browser and it will make a Skype call. This is not part of the normal setup, so selecting it is up to you. Click Continue to move to the next step.
  7. This screen attempts to get you to set your default search engine and browser page to Bing. It is not necessary to do so. Uncheck the boxes if you do not want this option. Once done, click Continue.
  8. Now the files for Skype are loaded onto your computer. After it is finished, you will see the Skype login prompt. All you need to do to get started is to log into your Skype account.
