Why can't I add an A record?

In SimpleDNS I try to add an A record for a "shop" subdomain pointing to my eCommerce hosting. I then receive an error message saying I need the advanced zone editor installed. The WebHostingHub documentation says that happens when a subdomain is a reserved word... is "shop" really a reserved word? If not, why can't I add the A record?

Hello davidjennings,

I see our Tier 2 added an A record for shop several months ago for you. As they did it via the server with root access, it is considered a reserved record.

I removed that record and re-added it via the cpanel. It now is considered a user defined record and appears in the list. You are now able to modify it as needed.

Best Regards,
Scott M
