Does generating an SSH key to connect using putty preclude connecting via the Internet? I'm worried that if I mess something up I won't be able to connect at all. Thanks.

Hello Jim,

Thank you for your question on connecting via SSH versus the Internet. No, creating the SSH key and using putty will not prevent any connection to your account using a browser.

You will be able to connect to SSH via Putty and to your account cPanel via the browser. Neither one will affect the other.

Kindest Regards,
Scott M
