How to send mail to all contacts of address book

You would need to set up a contact list specifically with everyone in your address book on it. Then you can send an email using that specific contact list.

Hello Dirk,

Thank you for contacting us. After Creating an Email Distribution List in Horde, you should be able to call it up by typing the name of the list in the To: field of the email.

Thank you,
John-Paul

Is there a way to transfer email names from sorted out emails to the contact list quickly without having to manually input each one indivdually?

Hello Jason,

Unfortunately, there is no quick way to enter a large number names unless they're in a comma separate values (CSV) list. You can go to each email and click on the name and add it to the address book that way, but you will need to go each individual email to do that.

I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Regards,
Arnel C.

I am looking to set up a master email list(s) so every board or administrator has access to this email list. Is this possible? Or will they need to set their own master list?

Thank you!

Yes, it is possible. But it is not always secure, but you can always change the password if you wish to remove access from one of the administrators.

How do I delete unwanted contacts from the Horde Address Book? I have over 1200 in my lists and a turn over around 15 a month. I can delete all fields in the contact record except at least one character in the last name, a required field.

You should have a delete button that will allow you to remove the contact information.

Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to accomplish this in webmail. But, you can create a list of the addresses, then import them into webmail at one time. This is covered in our guide on Importing Contacts Into roundcube.

Thank you,

We have an address book that won't populate when typing into the To field when sending a message. Other users have it working and we have Two or more that are not auto populating. Is there a simple option i have missed or do I need someone else to address this such as the admin?

There might be something wrong with the address book. You will need to submit a ticket to our live technical support team (contact information at the bottom of the page). They will be able to look at the issue directly on your account server.

Hello Ed,

Sorry for the issues with the Horde Address book. I just tried it myself and it appears to work PROVIDED that your address book entry has an email address in the Communications tab (at the top). Horde automatically searches for the addressed based on the name in your address book. If it finds it, then it searches the nearest possibilities and lists them in a drop down. So, in order for it to work, make sure that your address book entry has the first and last name entries AND the email address field saved in the contact. If you continue to have problems, please let us know. My version of the Horde software is 5.2.22. If your version is different, then your version of the software may act differently.
