You can set up Outlook 2007 to send and receive email from your email hosted at Web Hosting Hub.

First, log into your Outlook 2007.  Once you have opened up the application, we will add a new account:

  1. Click on Tools in your Toolbar, and then "Account Settings".
  2. On the email tab (which will be open by default), click on the "New..." on the left side of the window.
  3. Select "Microsoft Exchange, IMAP, POP3, or HTTP" on the next screen and click "Next".
  4. Instead of filling out the information on this screen, select the "Manually configure server settings" at the bottom of the screen and click "Next".
  5. On the next screen, select ""Internet Email" and click "Next".

Now you will fill in your User Information:

  • Your Name: Insert your full name here, as this is the name that will show when you send email
  • Email Address: Put in your full email address, for example This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Next is your Server Information:

  • Account Type: Select POP3 if you want the emails to be downloaded to Outlook 2007 and removed from the server.  Select IMAP if you want the emails to remain on the server.
  • Incoming Mail Server: If your domain is pointed to Web Hosting Hub, the incoming mail server will be mail.yourdomain.com.  For example, mail.example.com would be the mail server for example.com.
  • Outgoing Mail Server: This will be the same as your Incoming Mail Server, mail.yourdomain.com.

Finally, you will fill in your Login Information:

Once you have filled in the information, click on the "More Settings..." button on the right as we need to change a few more settings.

  • Outgoing Server Tab: On the outgoing Server Tab, make sure that "My outgoing server requires authentication" is checked, as well as "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
  • Advanced Tab: By default you do not need to change anything here, however if you are having trouble sending email then you can change the outgoing port.  This is also where you can change your settings to connect via SSL.  We discuss these changes in other articles in the Knowledge Database.

Click "OK" to go back to the Account Settings screen, and then click on "Next."  Congratulations, you have added your email account to Outlook 2007!

Hello Fundertakers,

When setting up your Outlook, you will want to leave the SPA setting unchecked.

Thanks!

Webhostinghub created the problem with my working outlook email account. They told me that I had some unknown setting wrong and told me to follow this post. This post is about how to setup an email account - not troubleshoot and fix a problem that they have created. No help here. Just another waste of my time............

Hello David,

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with Outlook. In general, if there is a problem with Outlook, it's usually fairly well publicized and we would be getting a FLOOD of support traffic as many of our customers use Outlook. However, there are no trends indicating a widespread problem. We would not only see an increase in support traffic, but also multiple posts on the issue.

This does not mean that there is not an issue, but it does suggest that there is no problem created by the Web Hosting Hub servers.

I did review your account, and the support notes provided. However, there is no mention of the version of Outlook, or the exact problem other than it says that "all security methods not accepted by the client". The client mentioned in the error is Outlook. To my knowledge, our servers have not changed,

If you could please provide the version of Outlook that you're using, then I can continue investigating this issue and see if there is an existing issue. It's also mentioned that it was working before. Are you getting any specific error messages than what I have listed here? And what steps are you taking to duplicate the error?

Please provide some further information and I will further pursue the problem to see if we can get it resolved as soon as possible.

Kindest regards,
Arnel C.
