Why can't I see stats in AWStats?

Yesterday I called about michaelhallviola.com because we hadn't seen any stats appear in the AWStats since August. The technician said it was just a glitch, he would run them, and we could too with the update stats button. Since then (over 24 hrs), the message says the it is running in the background and can't be run now. Why is this taking so long?

Thank you for your question. The AWSTATS program is set to run every night during a slow period when the server load is below a certain point. If the time comes for the program to run and the server is still above the minimum load, that day gets skipped. There can be times when the server does not meet the minimum server load for a while. We are working on a better solution for those who want to use AWSTATS and Logaholic. As an addition to those stats programs, many customers also use Google Analytics. It complements the Logaholic and AWSTATS nicely.
