Drupal install error - the installation could not be completed
<div>When I try to install drupal with Fantastico there is the following message: The installation can not be completed: - You chose to install in the main directory, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain.You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation: .htaccess. Thanks for your support.</div>

Hi MatthewBestor, I'm sorry you're having trouble installing Drupal. In order to complete your installation, please delete the .htaccess file in your public_html folder. If you are working with files in the cPanel File Manager, be sure to select "Show Hidden Files" so you can view and delete the .htaccess file.
