When I download my store files from my wholesaler, I have to convert to csv format. (not always easy) then I noticed that I have almost 6,000 files of which translates to 1015 categories, Way too many categories!! so how do I select (only) the files that I want, when I have no way of knowing which file is what. These files are the building block files of the categories/products/images/prices/shipping/stock etc. Even if I manage to figure-out the spredsheet thing, I still need to know which files i want. I wont know until I get to the images/pictures files, im lost, but I cant up-load those files until I have installed the first building block files. Any advise would be appreciated!!!! Hello kennyjames,

The import process is based on the export file from the other database. Without seeing it, I cannot advise exactly why it is coming up with over 1000 unique categories. You may be able to look at the files and delete any that you do not want, however this can be tedious and dangerous because if you delete any categories that have products attached, they will be orphaned unless you can assign them to another category. This may be incredibly difficult to do within a csv file.

Kindest Regards,
Scott M
