Hello
I bought yesterday a hosting for a joomla website. I could easly publish it and started to work on it.
But the troubles started when I wanted to upload a component. Then I got a long error message "JInstaller::install: SQL Error. DB function failed with error number 1064.You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'TYPE=MyISAM' at line 20 SQL=CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS..................................."
And so for every component I tried to upload. I did some research and discover that one can fix it manually by editing sql file. But if I have to do that for every single component I will upload I just cannot.
Can you resolve this please?
Have a great day!

Hello Doubs,

It appears the reason is due to the components expecting a lower version of MySQL than the server has installed. We may be able to move you to another server that has an older version, or the .sql file can be edited to change the command 'TYPE=MyISAM' to 'ENGINE=MyISAM'.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance with the issue.

Best Regards,
Scott M
