I just used your information on recovering my password from Joomla admin. Went I went into the -users and then passwords there was a long code password there. I also changed the setting to Md i believe.
The Question is -DO I set the Md back to a blank and is that new password secure ,it looked like they took my original lost password and recoded it securely.
Any Way the advice was a life saver and the best info on the web for this situation.
Thank You

Hello Cr8086,

You should set it back to MD5 once you have typed it out. That way it's encoded in MD5. Is the password secure? That' a pretty vague question in a way - the knee-jerk reaction (of any hosting service) to that kind of question is, of course it is secure. However, passwords are only as secure as you make them. If you keep you passwords written on a post-it note visible on your desk, then it's not secure. Or, if you're using something that can easily be deduced, such as your middle name, your phone number, or something that is easily seen in your life that a hacker could try in order to gain access to your data, then it's not secure. From the aspect of the server, the data is as secure as we can make it. I'm not upset with your question or trying to be facetious in my answer. I just want make sure that you understand that when you ask, "is that password secure?" that you understand the factors involved in that question. We do strive to be one of the better hosts and provide safe, secure hosting servers as a result. Here's an article on security from our support center:

Who's your website security?

Additionally, our servers are monitored 24/7. The servers are physically secure and also involve a number of other security measures that we do not all list for matters of- security.

I hope this helps to answer your question. If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

Regards,

Arnel C.
