i've set my index.html file as executable but the server side include files are not being shown.

Thank you for your question usacoder! Make sure you have the following code added to your .htaccess file. AddType text/html .shtml AddHandler server-parsed .shtml Options Indexes FollowSymLinks Includes AddHandler server-parsed .html .htm Once you save that, you should see the SSI Server Side Includes working.
