Hello, Im trying to set up https with no success.
I generated a self signed certificate for *.mydomain.com.uy
and installed it using the cpanel installer without any problems, and if I go to the ssl site administrator it shows as protecting www.mydomain.com.uy (as expected).
When I try to access
https://www.mydomain.com.uy or
https://mydomain.com.uy
I get ssl_error_rx_record_too_long on firefox
and ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR in Chrome
on every computer I try.
I already checked the time setting and its being syncronized to time.windows.com
Some people posted that as a possible cause for this issue. I also cleaned the local certificate cahe or something of sorts, according to another solution I found. None worked.
Still, its not acceptable for me to expect the final user to do anything otherthan accept the selfsigned certificate on entry to the site.
How can I correct this?

thanks

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your SSL error. In speaking with our System Admins they say that self-signed certs cannot be created on shared servers. This would require a purchased SSL which is installed by our Systems team.

Kindest Regards,
Scott M
