How do I upload a MS Word doc to be my static front page in WordPress?

I actually found a work around (I cheated) ... I edited the 'Sample Page' by pasting in the text from the document I wanted to upload! ... Now I want to upload a MS PowerPoint (ppt) file into my front page.

Hello Tomadams,

Are you looking to add a slideshow of your PowerPoint presentation? If so there is a plugin I found called SlideOnline. You can install this plugin onto your wordpress website then modify your front page to add the slideshow.
