Hello Litshome,

Thanks for the question. You have a couple questions, so let me summarize:

  • How many websites can I host?

We don't state a limit. This is shared hosting so although we use the word "unlimited", there are some common sense limitations. Check out the link for information on how we define "unlimited."

  • Can I do audio and video website?

Yes, you can, but to only to an extent. The main focus of using an inexpensive web hosting service will be upon hosting websites that put only a certain level of strain on the resources available to the web server. This is due to the face that shared hosting focuses on serving many customers instead of a few specific websites. Putting media like video or audio can vary depending on exactly how much you're actually doing. If you're adding gigabytes of video and you want the web server to host it and run it directly to your customer, then you will probably encounter problems. My suggestion would be to use a service like YouTube to host the videos and then link to the playback. This takes the load away from the Web server. The bigger the video or audio, the more possibility of bogging down the webserver with the playback. In fact, many websites use Content Delivery Networks, to deliver audio/video. This improves the experience for website visitors and also decreases load on the hosting web server.

We don't have a specific "numbers" for saying, this is EXACTLY what you can't do on our hosting servers because there are far too many ways that audio/video can be put on a website. If you do it minimally, then it shouldn't be a problem to host on a hosting server. If you're trying to make this a big part of your site, then you would need to bear in mind the impact it will have on the resources of the web server when you're building it.

I hope this helps to answer your questions. Please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Regards,
Arnel C.
