I'm trying to set up a git repository that uses ssh login, and make sure authenticated users can ONLY use git shell (as per https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-on-the-Server-Setting-Up-the-Server ) how do I add the git user (adduser fails in terminal)?

Hello,

Sorry for the problem you're having with adding authenticated users to your Git-SCM installation. If you are using a Web Hosting Hub account for your installation, then you may need to submit a ticket to our live technical support team as it may be a permissions issue. Live support will be able to investigate the issue to see what may be the cause of the problem. If you are unable to get an answer for your Git-SCM problem or if you are not using Git with your Hub account, then I would recommend contacting the Git Community (git@vger.kernel.org). They will most likely have information on the issue.

I hope that helps to answer your question! If you require further assistance please let us know!

Regards,
Arnel C.
