<p>I am considering signing up to host a new website with you (no domain registered yet). I have seen your pricing for domain registration and hosting (free domain reg. and 3.99 a month for hosting). I have also read through the community questions to see what costs of renewal are, but have seen 2 different ones. In one case, when asked about domain renewal, the person was told that domain registration renewal is free for one domain per year (which sounds like domain renewal for one site is free every year to renew). In another, the person asked about hosting and domain renewal and was told that this was special pricing and that after a year, the price went up to $107.88 My questions are: If I renew in a year, will the domain hosting for my one site still be free? If I renew in a year, will my web hosting go from 3.99 per month to approx. 8.99 per month? What are the costs if I register a domain elsewhere and host my website here for this year and what are the costs to renew the hosting? And, is the cost more initially if I add a shopping cart and how much does that go up in a year? It would really help if you would be open about what the renewal costs are for your plans, and place them up front where the initial pricing is. And also mention that the sign up costs are "special pricing". Hello Lori,

Here are the official answers to your questions:

If I renew in a year, will the domain hosting for my one site still be free? Currently, the free domain is for the first year only. After that, it will be $11.95 per year, or just under $1 a month.

If I renew in a year, will my web hosting go from 3.95 per month to approx. 8.95 per month? Your $3.95 per month is a new customer deal that lasts as long as your initial term (1, 2, or 3 years.) Upon that expiration, it does go up to $8.95 per month when it renews.

What are the costs if I register a domain elsewhere and host my website here for this year and what are the costs to renew the hosting? The cost would be the same as a 1 year hosting package ($3.95 per month) for that 1 year term.

And, is the cost more initially if I add a shopping cart and how much does that go up in a year? There is no additional cost to add shopping carts to your account, and it will not go up due to any additional software (carts, blogs, etc) that you put on the account.

Here is a link to our Terms of Service, where it is all stated officially. That way it supercedes anything that may bein the question forums (as they may be outdated) Terms Of Service (specifically, sections 2: Term; Termination; Cancellation Policy. and 17: Free Domain Name)

I hope this answers your questions. If you have any more questions or information specific to the issue please leave a comment below so we can further assist you.

Best Regards,
Scott M
