You have access to change the nameservers of any domains registered at Web Hosting Hub.  You can make any modifications to the nameservers in your Account Management Panel (or AMP).

WebHosting Hub Nameservers IP Address
ns1.webhostinghub.com 205.134.224.133
ns2.webhostinghub.com 173.205.127.4

How to Change my Domain Nameservers in AMP?

  1. Login to AMP.
  2. In the top menu, hover over Domains and click Manage Domains
  3. On the next page, you will see a listing of domain names associated with your account. Click the domain that you would like to manage.
  4. Within the links on the next page, find and click the link labeled Point your domain.
  5. Finally, enter your primary and secondary nameservers.  Remember that you will always need to enter two nameservers.  Once you are done, click Submit. You will then see a message stating "Your request has been completed"

Since changing nameservers is a DNS change, it can take up to 24 hours to take effect, or propagate.

Hello Benet,

The AMP will not allow the transfer of domain names that are less than 14 days from expiring. However, as long as the domain is pointing to our nameservers it will function. You may choose to renew the domain for another year at the current registrar.

If you sincerely want to move it over to us, please contact our Live Support to see if they can help with that.

Hello Adrian,

Are you still going to use the current domain name as well? If so, you simply need to have the new domain point to the current one, by setting up a parked domain in the cPanel.

If you are looking to replace the current domain name with a new one and this is your primary domain name, you will need a primary domain name change.

If it is an addon domain, simply add a new addon domain for the new domain name and ensure the root folder is pointing to the same folder as the previous domain name. Once that is done, you can remove the original domain name from the addon list.

Kindest Regards,

Hello Valentin,

Sorry for the confusion, but your question is not clear. Can you please explain what you are trying to do? We need more details before we can try to provide you an answer. The article above shows the name server IP addresses if you are changing the name servers so that they point to our hosting service.

Please provide us more information and we would happy to help.

Hi,

I have a site built at Wix and want to CONNECT my domain to the Wix site so that my site hosting and my domain mgmt are kept separate. I do not want to POINT or TRANSFER my domain to Wix. The message below is what Wix instructed me to send to you. Can you please CONNECT my domain this way?

I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their name servers- NS1.WIX.COM (IP address 216.139.213.90) and NS2.WIX.COM (IP address 95.211.144.195).

PS - I see a way to edit the nameservers myself in the Delegations Details section, but it says it will POINT my domain, which I dont want to do.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hello RL Sieverding,

Thanks for the question! There may be a little bit of confusion here. Let's see if we can make sure we all have the correction definition of POINTING or TRANSFERRING a domain.

If you're pointing a domain to another hosting service, the actual domain management remains static -it doesn't change. This means, if you purchased the domain through us, the domain management still stays with us.

Pointing a domain can be done through a Name Server update (as Wix is saying), or by making an A record for the domain to point to in your DNS. As you mentioned, name servers can be changed in the Account Management Panel (AMP). The instructions are in the article above.

Transferring a domain requires that you initiate the with a domain registrar. A domain registrar manages the domain on the internet. The transfer is generally a PAID service. Also, it doesn't immediately change where you domain is pointing to. For more information, check out Domain Name server change versus Name Server change.

The easiest way to handle this is to change your name servers. If you want to use the email service with our hosting, you will need to create an A record that points the web server to WIX.

I hope this helps to explain the whole thing. I do understand that it's pretty confusing. Let us know if you require any further assistance.

Arnel C.

Thank you but Wix advises not to POINT it but to connect it. THey define the difference here - http://www.wix.com/support/html5/domains/transferring-domains-to-wix/faq/what-is-the-difference-between-7435701Basically, I would like to keep my domain separate from Wix and with you.Wix says CONNECTING the domain to Wix means:

  • - Your domain remains hosted by the domain host, and therefore domain renewals, contact information updates and billing inquiries must be done through your current domain host and not through Wix. (This is what I would like)
  • - If your domain is connected via name servers, you will be able to manage your DNS records from your Wix account. (This is what I would like)
  • - If your domain is connected via pointing, your DNS records are managed via your domain host. (This is what I dont want).

Can you connect my domain with these Wix instructions:

I have built a site on Wix.com. Please connect my domain to their name servers- NS1.WIX.COM (IP address 216.139.213.90) and NS2.WIX.COM (IP address 95.211.144.195).

If not, and I update the name servers in the domain delgations details - does that connect my domain to Wix? Or does that point my domain to Wix?Wix strongly advises against pointing - this is what they say:"Please Note: Wix Does NOT Recommend PointingWe recommend connecting your domain to Wix by using the Wix name servers. Why?

  •     Downtime when Wix IP changes: The primary reason that we recommend connecting your domain to Wix by using the Wix name servers is that the Wix IP address might change in order to prevent your site from going down. This happens from time to time when natural disasters, server problems and other problems occur. In such events, domains connected to Wix by name servers will automatically have their DNS records updated. However, domains that are connected to Wix by IP pointing will not work until you request the new IP# from us and then manually make the changes with your domain host. This will result in a much longer downtime.
  •     Less support & assistance: When you connect your domain to Wix by name servers, we can offer support and assist you in creating any DNS records you might need. Whereas if you connect to Wix by pointing you would need to contact your domain host with any domain/DNS related issues.
  •     Feature updates must be made manually: We can automatically modify your DNS to accommodate any new feature that requires DNS changes. When choosing pointing you would need to manually make these changes with your domain host."

Thank you for your assistance!

Thank you - it sounds as if WebhostingHub only offers the ability to POINT a domain. I will have to do this even though Wix advises against it for the reasons above.

It appears as what Wix is referring to as "connecting" the domain is simply pointing the nameservers. When they refer to "pointing" the domain, they are referring to creating A records and keeping the nameservers here. Therefore, following this guide would be the same as what they are referring to as "connecting" the domain.

Unfortunately, as this is a public message board and we have no way of verifying your account, we would be unable to make changes to your account. You may, however, follow the instructions within this article to adjust your nameservers to point to Wix via AMP.
